About Bárd
Our Story
Transforming the technical into the tangible. Our focus on Knowledge Operations and AI Automation
leadership is how we translate complex and intricate processes into a clear knowledge solution.
Where it all began
Bárd Global was founded in 1999 by Tom Fitzgerald in Ballingeary, County Cork, in the heart of Ireland's Gaeltacht. At a time when remote work and high-speed internet were still a distant idea for much of the country, Tom believed world-class technical documentation could be created from a small rural community.
That belief quickly became reality. Bárd's earliest clients included Cisco and Nortel, proving that exceptional technical communication could come from anywhere. Over the years, that reputation grew into trusted partnerships with some of the world's leading technology companies, including Google and SAP.
More than twenty-five years later, the location has never defined our ambitions. What began in a small Irish village has grown into a global Knowledge Operations and AI Automation partner serving organisations around the world while remaining proudly rooted in the community where the journey started.
Our team, global and local
Proudly global and operating with a remote and hybrid workforce, we have people coast-to-coast in the US, Canada, Spain, Portugal, Mexico, New Zealand, Israel, the UK and throughout Ireland. Our team works with a strong sense of autonomy and flexibility while creating strong bonds with your team at the same time.
Reliable and diverse enterprise knowledge. Our team of Knowledge Strategists comes from diverse backgrounds — design, technology, AI leadership, marketing, coding, project management and beyond.
Our leadership team

William Fitzgerald
William leads our operations and drives innovation in technical writing, IX, and UX, leveraging a global perspective from strategic business development across the USA, Europe, and Asia. His passions extend to exploring what makes us human, from Chinese Daoism, cold plunges, and debates about philosophical questions like the best ice-cream flavor with his kids.

Glenn Copley
When it comes to numbers, Glenn makes sure everything adds up – with a smile. With his 20+ years of experience, Glenn expertly navigates financial planning, reporting, and risk management, ensuring our financial strategies line up with Bárd’s goals. When he’s had enough of crunching numbers, you’ll find him on his bike, enjoying the open road and the thrill of cycling.

Nóra Hayes
Nóra is an accomplished recruitment manager and has spent more than 11 years perfecting the art of building professional teams and finding the right person for the team. She’s known for her boundless energy and positivity, whether it’s in her dynamic approach to HR and customer service skills, or for exploring hidden hiking trails.

Noelle Murphy
Noelle is the friendly face and organisational heartbeat of our office. With years of experience in administration, accounts, and payroll, she makes sure everything runs like clockwork while keeping the atmosphere positive and supportive. When she’s not keeping us all on track, you’ll find her out walking her dog, tending to her garden, soaking up the beauty of nature, or enjoying her passion for music and art.

Sinéad Downey
Sinéad brings over a decade of experience in operations, admin, and strategic planning to keep our teams running smoothly. She thrives on connecting the dots – between people, systems, and ideas – to drive clarity and efficiency across global workflows. When she’s not streamlining operations, you’ll find her experimenting in the kitchen or getting creative with a paintbrush in hand.

Carole Wynne
A seasoned communications and marketing strategist with more than 20 years of experience, Carole focuses on brand reputation, lead generation, and customer advocacy. When she’s not working her magic with words, you can find her exploring the great outdoors or having deep conversations with her animal friends, who totally get her spirit vibe.
Jessica Bird
Jessica is leading our Sales and Customer efforts and, frankly, she’s brilliant at it, working with customers and people for over 15 years. Equal parts relationship builder, deal maker and problem solver, she’s the person who somehow makes the impossible feel straightforward.
She asks great questions, listens properly, spots opportunities others miss, and somehow manages to keep all the plates spinning without breaking a sweat.
When she’s not growing Bárd, she’s growing... organised chaos. Between kids, dog walks, tennis, running around, and generally being the family logistics manager, we’re not entirely sure when she finds time to sleep.
We’re delighted she’s on the team. Our future customers will be, too!
If you haven’t met Jessica yet, you will. She’s helping shape the next chapter of Bárd, and we’re excited for what’s ahead.

Our location: Rooted in Ireland, connected to the world
Bárd’s headquarters sits in the heart of the Gaeltacht, in Béal Átha’n Ghaorthaidh (Ballingeary), County Cork — a small village in the Muskerry Gaeltacht, where Irish is still spoken day to day and music and singing are part of the fabric of the place. That atmosphere shapes how we work: with authenticity and respect for the history we come from.

A milestone worth marking
Since 1999, we’ve grown from a small local operation into a global Knowledge Operations and AI Automation partner. We’ve navigated the dot-com bust, the 2008 recession and every shift in how organisations create and manage information since — by adapting, listening to clients and holding the line on quality.
We’ve stayed true to where we started. Bárd remains a community-focused, flexible place to work, which is exactly why it continues to attract talented people from all over the world. We’ve kept our sense of humour too, along with the spirit of curiosity that keeps us ahead of the changes reshaping our industry.
My favourite time of day is when I interact with my colleagues at Bárd. They are, on the one hand, professional and capable, but at the same time relaxed and friendly. One of our lovely global tech clients
What we do for you
Intelligent knowledge systems
We turn scattered documentation into structured, reusable knowledge that’s built to be found — by people, by search and increasingly by AI.
AI-driven documentation
Content created with AI assistance from the start, so it’s fast to produce and just as rigorous as anything written by hand.
AI-assisted knowledge creation and maintenance
Human judgement paired with AI speed, so accuracy holds even as your content library grows.
AI-ready knowledge ecosystems
Learning and reference content structured so it can be pulled into copilots, search and support tools, not just read from top to bottom.
Enterprise knowledge and governance
Technical and API documentation trusted enough to power enterprise search and internal AI tools, with the governance to keep it that way.
AI development and prompt engineering
Helping your teams get consistently better results from the AI tools they already have, without needing to become AI experts themselves.
Bárd supporting our communities

Knowledge that outlasts the individual
For more than twenty-seven years, Bárd has been doing the thing that turned out to matter most: getting human knowledge into a form that outlasts the person holding it. That remains the foundation of our work today, whether we are supporting technical documentation, Knowledge Operations or AI-ready content systems.
